Climbing – January at Shelf and GoG

Crack Monsters
In Middle of January some more climbing was done. The first obstacle to overcome was me being trapped at work on a Saturday for a IT cutover. Things didn’t proceed well and Saturday became a complete washout. That night, Ben and Amanda showed up and we got ready for a trip down to Shelf road on Sunday morning.
Eleven Mile Canyon: Arch Rock

Eleven Mile Canyon
The first foray into climbing at Eleven Mile was quite fun. The goal for the day was to inspect and climb a bit at Arch Rock, which is a granite dome known for its nice and easy/moderate routes. There were three of us out to romp on the rocks that morning, Derek, Ben and Myself.

Mt Royal
Now the first Saturday back from my vacation at home, Eli and I met Ben in Frisco for some multipitch granite climbing. Our goal was to climb Mt Royal, which sits right above the bustling town of Frisco. We would be climbing the royal flush, which was awesomely put up by a word class climbers but for normal people.

The first weekend of June ended up being a whirlwind tour of climbing across the front range of Colorado. I started in the cold morning winds of Eldorado Canyon and finished in the baking-smoke filled sun of Shelf Road.

Up to the First
Mr. Nick Fischer came out to Colorado for some fun activities and fine beer drinking. I only met up with him for a couple days but was still able to give him a good quick winter experience.
